Join our August Immersion!

The August Immersion Training is designed for students who want to take their training to the next level and enjoy the sacred time of the turtles.

This is known as the “Green Season,” the land is lush with pleasant temperatures, making it an enchanting time to visit Costa Rica. Though training schedules are subject to change based on the weather and the tides, typically practice sessions are held in the mornings, leaving the afternoons open for exploration and adventure excursions. Daily practice consists of therapeutic yoga followed by Qi Gong & Tai Chi for warmup. The practice continues into the art of Xing Yi and Ba Gua and concludes with Kung Fu & Weapons Training.

Students  set goals during the opening practice and have the opportunity to focus on specific areas of the ancient arts to ensure that they accomplish these goals with ease and enjoyment.

Qi Gong

The ancient art of Qi Gong originated thousands of years ago dating back to the Yellow Emperor. We teach a variety of different qi gong sets including the Ba Dean Jin (Eight Sections of Silk Brocade), The Yi Jing Jin, The Shi Ba Shi, Lo Han Qi Gong and I-Chuan (Mind Boxing: Internal Qi Gong for self healing). These longevity practices stimulate the health and rejuvenation every vital organ in the body while simultaneously balancing the nervous system and calming the mind.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art renowned for thousands of years due to the incredible health benefits. Tai Chi brings balance, coordination, strength and bone density. Tai Chi is also known to help delay the onset of aging in terms of memory and continued brain development. Tai Chi is extremely helpful for stress management. Tai Chi is considered a moving meditation with gentle movements which can be modified to benefit all people regardless of age or health conditions. Tai Chi is a fun and practical lifelong health practice for longevity and wellbeing.

Kung Fu

Kung Fu is the mother of all martial arts. Kung Fu builds self confidence, trains the body and strengthens the mind and spirit. Kung Fu is thousands of years old, modeled after animal movements, and teaches self defense. Practicing traditional Kung Fu benefits the cardiovascular system while optimizing focus, memory, balance and flexibility.

Self Defense

Shih Fu Eileen Hancock has been teaching Self Defense Seminars for over 25 years. The Tien Shan Pai style is renowned for its practical nature for self defense as well as its many health benefits. The lineage specializes in Chin Na "wrist lock" which are simple, easy to apply and extremely effective self defense techniques. Learning self defense is a must for everyone especially world travelers and adventurers.

Xing I Chuan

The Five Elements or “Five Fists” of Xing I Chuan is an ancient Chinese Martial Art that is considered the bridge between the Internal & External Martial Arts. Chinese Martial Arts were birthed out of the Five Element Theory which focuses on harmonizing oneself with nature and creating balance in the aspects of Metal, Water, Wood, Fire & Earth. Xing I Chuan is considered the simplest form to learn and the most difficult to master, with a focus on mind intent and harmonizing the joints and vital organs.

Ba Qua Chang

Ba Qua Chang was developed for defend and deflect multiple opponents. The tornado like movements are circular in nature and involve practical self defense modeled after animal movements. Traditional Ba Gua is practice in an octagonal space defined my the I Ching Trigrams and is thought to have a mysterious, cosmological influence.

Yoga

Yoga is a mind-body practice that originated in ancient India and has been practiced for thousands of years. The benefits of yoga are numerous and wide-ranging. For one, it can improve flexibility, strength, balance, and posture. Additionally, it can reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, and boost overall physical and mental well-being. Practicing yoga regularly can also help with pain management and prevent the onset of certain chronic conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Moreover, yoga can provide a sense of community and connection, as well as a way to cultivate mindfulness and self-awareness. Overall, incorporating yoga into one's lifestyle can bring about a host of physical, mental, and emotional benefits.
